“WIND BERLIN” – Ensemble Wind Berlin
Matic Kuder, Tomaž Močilnik – clarinet, Luka Mitev, Miha Mitev – bassoon, Andrej Žust, Sebastijan Buda – horn
Over the past decade, the rise of numerous outstanding young Slovenian musicians — especially wind players — has left a strong mark on the music scene. Their breakthroughs into the world’s most prestigious orchestras have astonished Slovenia’s musical community and sparked considerable excitement among music lovers.
Together with several colleagues from other countries, these musicians have formed the ensemble Wind Berlin, a name that alludes to the legendary wind ensemble Ensemble Wien-Berlin, which for decades has represented the pinnacle of wind ensemble performance. Today, this level is unquestionably being reached by these remarkable Slovenian artists: clarinetists Matic Kuder (Berlin Philharmonic) and Tomaž Močilnik (Frankfurt Radio), bassoonists Luka Mitev (Konzerthaus Berlin) and Miha Mitev (Slovenian National Opera and Ballet Maribor), and horn players Andrej Žust (Berlin Philharmonic) and Sebastijan Buda (Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich).
This wind sextet, featuring such dazzling performers, offers a true celebration for connoisseurs of fine music — especially as we’ll have the chance to hear Mozart’s famous Serenade in E-flat major, K. 375.
Programme: C. M. von Weber, W. A. Mozart, P. Merku, M. Seiber
