The Tourist Association Portorož, in cooperation with the local communities of Piran, Strunjan, Portorož, and Lucija, invites the residents of the Municipality of Piran to join a joint cleanup action, which will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, on three selected circular hiking trails in our municipality.
Purpose of the action
The main tourist visitors have left. Now it is time to take a moment for nature and for the community. With this cleanup action, we wish to encourage respect for the environment we live in and to foster pleasant, connecting gatherings among locals.
Piran Circular Trail
- Length: 9 km
- Walking time: approx. 2.5 hours
- The trail runs along the coast and through the old town of Piran. It is scenic and suitable for most hikers.
Strunjan Circular Trail
- Length: 12 km
- Walking time: approx. 3 hours
- It passes through the Valeta tunnel, across Strunjan Landscape Park, and along the Strunjan cliff. This is the most demanding trail, suitable for more experienced hikers.
Seča Circular Trail
- Length: 9 km
- Walking time: approx. 2.5 hours
- The trail leads across the green Seča peninsula, past the salt pans and the stone sculpture park Forma Viva, with a beautiful sea view. Suitable for those seeking a peaceful walk in nature.
The meeting point for all three trails is at TIC Portorož, where the action will also conclude.
Each participant will receive: a bag and gloves for collecting waste, a sandwich, and water.
After the hike, JP Okolje Piran will ensure the removal of the collected waste bags.
General information
Start: Saturday, 11. 10. 2025, at 9:00 (meeting point at TIC Portorož)
Cancellation: In case of bad weather, the cleanup action will be canceled and postponed to 2026.
No prior registration required.
