Piran Music Stage: Goran Bojčevski & Balkan nuevo acoustic

Balkan Nuevo – Music that Bridges Time

“My creative work within Balkan Nuevo is rooted in respect for tradition while looking toward the future. Balkan music is full of emotions, rich melodies, and rhythms. In it, I sensed the potential to express myself in new ways, inspired by Piazzolla’s tango nuevo. Balkan Nuevo is not just a fusion of elements, but a search for balance – to preserve the raw energy of tradition and enrich it with complexity and fresh expression.”

The sound will be unique: alongside the clarinet, ethnic flutes will resonate, adding an ancient color and emotional depth. Improvisation plays a key role – free, open, and unpredictable, yet at the same time responsible. Every melody is a story, expanded and refreshed through improvisation.

Goran Bojčevski earned his master’s degree in clarinet at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, regularly performs across Europe, and collaborates with top musicians such as Vlatko Stefanovski, Gibonni, Rade Šerbedžija, and Vlado Kreslin. He is also a respected composer – writing for orchestras, ballets, and films – with works performed on prestigious stages in Slovenia, Croatia, and beyond. Critics describe him as one of the most versatile clarinetists in the world.

Balkan Nuevo is not just music. It is a story and a bridge between tradition and the future.
