ARON QUARTET

In 1998 the quartet was founded by four Viennese musicians. They had all completed studies with members of the Alban Berg Quartet as well as with Ernst Kovacic and Heinrich Schiff. Their artistic careers have been profoundly influenced by the members of the Alban Berg Quartet along with Ernst Kovacic and Heinrich Schiff. A busy concert schedule has so far taken the Aron Quartet through Europe, the USA, Mexico and Japan, début performances at the Vienna Musikverein (2004), Wigmore Hall London (2002) and Carnegie Hall New York (2001) and to renowned festivals (Biennale di Venezia, Schoenberg Festival etc). The Aron Quartet’s first CD was released in 1999 and consists of works by Schubert, Schoenberg, Mozart and Ullmann. In February 2002, a concert by the Aron Quartet was broadcast throughout Europe by ORF (Austrian broadcast) for the EBU. CD recordings include string quartets by Schubert and a CD box with Schoenberg’s complete works for string quartet for which the Aron Quartet received the Pasticcio Prize. The international press acclaimed this CD as one of the best recordings of 20th century chamber music. The outstanding interpretation and technical excellence of these recordings not only demonstrate the Aron Quartet’s exceptional competence but also set new standards.
