Tartini 250: Tartini Junior – Vita Benko, Matej Haas and Sebastian Bertoncelj

VITA BENKO

Flutist Vita Benko was born in Slovenia and studied at University Mozarteum Salzburg with professors Irena Grafenauer, Henrik Wiese and Paolo Taballione. She is a first prize winner of Savarez-Corelli international competition and was honoured several times as a prize winner in the music competitions. Vita Benko was awarded scholarship for outstanding achievements from the University Mozarteum, received ZOIS Scholarship from Slovenian government during her studies and was a protégé of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation. Passionate about chamber music, she regurarly performs with different ensembles in Austria and abroad. She performed at Schloss Arenberg, Festival Ljubljana, Festival Lent, Tartini Festival, Klaviersommer Wasserburg, Festival BachZeit Mondsee… As a soloist she recorded Saint-Saens’s Carneval des Animaux with Salzburg Chamber Soloists. Vita Benko plays with orchestras Philharmonie Salzburg, Salzburg Chamber Soloists, Opera Ljubljana and teaches flute at Music Gymnasium in Salzburg.

MATEJ HAAS

Slovenian violinist Matej Haas studied at the Mozarteum Salzburg University under Igor Ozim and at the Basel Music Academy under Rainer Schmidt. As a concert master and soloist, he collaborates with the Phiharmonie Salzburg, Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie, Österreichisch-Koreanische Philharmonie, Ljubljanski solisti, Celjski godalni orkester, Symphony Orchestra Cantabile and the Chamber Orchestra Alumni. In addition, he has been teaching violin, as an assistant, at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana since October 2017. Over the past year, he has performed as a chamber musician and soloist at numerous concerts in Slovenia, Austria, Italy, Germany and Poland, including in collaboration with the Amadeus Music Society and RTV Slovenia, he recorded Korngold’s Piano Quintet, two novelties by Slovenian composers and Piano trio by Smetana. In addition to his interest in the historical performing practice of the Baroque period and classicism, he has lately been fascinated by the traditional music of Eastern European cultures. He often performs such repertoire with the SalzMusique Chamber Ensemble and group from Celje Shalom pom pom.

SEBASTIAN BERTONCELJ

Sebastian Bertoncelj is a regular guest on domestic and foreign stages – in the past he has performed with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, RTV Slovenia, the Academy of Music and the Festival Bled, collaborating with conductors U. Lajovic, P. von Steinaecker, En Shao and others. He performs solo in the cycles of the Glasbena mladina ljubljanska, Glasbena mladina Slovenije, Grajske harmonije, Festival Velenje, Festival Lent, Festival Nei Suoni dei Luoghi, Talenti al Teatro Bon, and intensely devotes himself to chamber music in various projects, where he has collaborated with musicians, such as M. Mlejnik, B. Lipovsek, E. Steele, C. Tun Andersen, L. Cossi, E. Cantor, W. Kim Ozim,… In addition to his many years of study with Prof. Milos Mlejnik at the Ljubljana Conservatory and the Academy of Music was further trained in Stuttgart by C. Brotbek, Luzerne by C. Poltéra and Salzburg by E. Bronzi. As a dedicated educator, he teaches in masterclasses, as well as at the Music School in Slovenska Bistrica and the Music School and Music High School in Celje.

Please purchase your tickets for individual concerts in advance (at Eventim sales points). If the number of visitors for an individual concert is higher than planned, all further visitors will unfortunately not be able to access the venue.

Tickets for Tartini festival can be purchased one hour before the concert at the venue or in advance sale at Tourist Information Center in Piran, Eventim sales points and Tartini’s birth house in Piran.
