Tartini 330: ROME PHILHARMONICS & Alessandro Quarta, violin

ROME PHILHARMONICS – I FILARMONICI DI ROMA
The Roman Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra (I Filarmonici di Roma – formerly the Orchestra da camera di Santa Cecilia) has been recognized by critics and audiences since its founding in 1976. It has performed under the direction of the most prominent conductors (Giulini, Sawallisch, Prêtre, Mehta, and Menuhin) and with distinguished soloists. Recently, he has been working with violinist Uto Ughi and performing an extensive repertoire of compositions from baroque to modern times with him in various ensembles. Alessandro Quarta will join this concert as a guest. The orchestra collaborates with the most important concert establishments and with Italian radio, television and music labels (RCA Victor Red Seal, BMG Ricordi). The orchestra has performed successfully in Mexico, Canada, India, Japan, Russia, and the USA, and has received the City of Rome Award and the European Parliament Plaque.

ALESSANDRO QUARTA

Alessandro Quarta can boast of collaborations with world-renowned artists: Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Jamiroquai, James Brown, Tino Turner, Tom Jones and others. In 2013 CNN called him a musical genius, in 2017 he received the award for the most outstanding Italian music maestro in the world at the Montecitorio Palace. At the Sanremo Festival in 2019 he appeared as an international guest of the evening, where he preformed a duet with the group Il Volo with the piece Musica che resta and made sure that the entire hall was blown away. In 2021, the maestro immediately enchanted the audience in the Portorož Auditorium with his personal interpretation of the Devil’s Trill Sonata: there were standing ovations for this magical execution, the tone and the improvisations. His innovations and creativity transform classical music into vibrant harmonies that effortlessly and attractively bring this style of music closer to audience.
