PERFORMERS

Venice Baroque Orchestra
The Italian Venice Baroque Orchestra, established in 1997 by
harpsichordist, researcher and conductor Andrea Marcon, is known as one of the
finest orchestras dedicated to playing concert and opera music of the 17thand 18th century on historic instruments. Under Marcon’s guidance the
orchestra revives forgotten masterpieces of this historic era and gives new
meaning to well-known music pieces. In the spirit of a real baroque orchestra, its size and cast
changes according to the repertoire. The main theme is Vivaldi’s compositions, known and almost
unknown. The musicians enthral
audiences all over the world with their fresh energy, stylistically striking
expressiveness and the brilliant clarity of the sound of the string
instruments.

Chouchane Siranossian
Violinist Chouchane Siranossian is one of the greatest
virtuosos on the international baroque scene. In 2021, she received the
International Classical Music Award for her CD of recordings of Tartini’s
concertos performed by the Venice Baroque Orchestra. Her easy approach to interpreting
Tartini’s demanding repertoire reminds us of the words of his contemporaries,
namely that Tartini’s music doesn’t have the same effect if it is not performed
in the style of his school. Chouchane Siranossian has completely fused with the style of
the School of Nations, where improvised ornaments are not stiff but are created in the moment of performance,
born out of deep internal assimilation of the maestro’s style and in an
unrepeatable event recreates the initial music idea in the same way as at jazz
concerts nowadays.
