Which beaches to visit?

Accessible Beach Portorož – Enjoy a relaxing day by the sea at one of the most wheelchair-friendly beaches in Slovenia. The main beach in Portorož is designed to provide safe and comfortable access for people using wheelchairs.
The entrance to the beach is step-free, with a gentle ramp leading directly to the sandy and concrete areas. Accessible restrooms and changing rooms are available, and just by the beach, you’ll find shaded areas, restaurants, and cafés with step-free entrances.
The seaside promenade is flat, wide, and paved – ideal for barrier-free strolls along the coast.
Several cafés and restaurants are located near the Portorož beach, all easily accessible and offering a pleasant coastal experience. Among the most popular is Kavarna Cacao, known for its delicious desserts, coffee, and refreshing drinks, just steps from the beach. Nearby is Cafe Central, offering a variety of snacks as well as vegan and vegetarian treats.
For those seeking a more refined experience, Restaurant Rizibizi serves a modern take on Istrian cuisine in an inviting setting. Right by the sea, you’ll also find Meduza Beach Club, which combines fine dining with a relaxing beachside atmosphere. All these venues are located along the flat, paved promenade and are mostly accessible to wheelchair users.
Fornače Beach, Piran – Partly pebbly, partly concrete, with access to the sea that is also suitable for people with disabilities.
St. Bernardin Resort Portorož – All three hotels (Grand Hotel Bernardin, Hotel Histrion, and Hotel Vile Park) offer beach and pool access via ramps and elevators. However, direct entry into the pools and the sea is not specially adapted.
Salinera Resort, Strunjan – Throughout the resort, including access to the hotel, indoor and outdoor pools, restaurant, and the sea, pathways and ramps are provided for smooth and step-free access.
