Unforgettable views at every step

Most of the trail runs directly along the sea. The closeness of the water and the distant view of foreign shores and mountain ranges give this route a special charm. The path mostly follows a “goat” track through unspoiled nature and thickets. A camera is essential for capturing unforgettable views.

This varied and attractive trail will lead you among olive trees and vineyards, through old town centers, and right along the seashore.

Basic information about the Coastal footpath:

  • Length: 18 km
  • Walking time: approximately 4 hours
  • Runs along the Slovenian coast, through towns with rich history and views of the sea

Towns along the route:

  • Piran – a medieval seaside town with narrow streets and stunning views.
  • Strunjan – a nature reserve where salt pans and cliffs offer the beauty of unspoiled nature.
  • Izola – a fishing town with a lively old town center and promenade.
  • Koper – the largest coastal town, with historic buildings and a bustling port.
