Apollonio Palace

Historical Palace

Apollonio Palace was created by joining two buildings and adding new construction on what was then an empty area facing the sea. Above the entrance door, a Baroque stone plaque with a coat of arms and inscription records the successful renovation of the palace in 1693. In-depth interior research uncovered Neoclassical wall paintings from the first third of the 19th century.

As in other palaces, the ambition of wealthier Piran families to decorate their homes in line with fashionable Venetian trends is clearly visible here (Župančič Street).

Today, it serves as an exhibition space.
