Forma Viva Portorož
Open air exhibition
The collection of stone sculptures in the open air began in 1961, initiated by Slovenian artists Jakob Savinšek and Janez Lenassi. Over 60 years of continuous work, sculptors from over 30 countries have created more than 130 stone artworks, nestled among native Piran olive trees. The park offers a stunning view of the Bay of Portorož and its surroundings.
The audio-video guide VIRTUAL FORMA VIVA is an innovative project led by acting director Mara Ambrožič Verderber. This pilot digital project presents 21 selected sculptures from inside and outside the Forma Viva park in Seča. The selection was curated by Dr. Majda Božeglav Japelj, museum advisor and curator, to best represent 60 years of sculptural symposia.
The guide includes audio and video recordings, showing each sculpture from multiple angles, including aerial views, offering a complete look at this local cultural landmark and open-air museum.
Virtual Forma Viva is the first online exhibition on the new website of the Coastal Galleries of Piran, accessible to a wide audience remotely. It was made possible through Mediadom Pyrhani, in collaboration with Črt Brajnik, an internationally recognized editor and documentary filmmaker, and the team of the Coastal Galleries of Piran.
We warmly invite you to explore it virtually!
