Tartini Monument
Statue
The Tartini Monument stands in the main square of Piran, named after the famous composer Giuseppe Tartini, who was born here. In 1896, a larger-than-life bronze statue was erected, created by the Venetian sculptor Antonio dal Zotto.
The statue sits on a tall stone pedestal and is positioned to visually connect the square with the Church of St. George, overlooking the town. The monument gives the space a strong cultural identity and highlights Tartini’s historical significance for Piran.
Today, it is one of the town’s most iconic landmarks, often serving as a starting point for walks, photography, and exploration of Piran’s rich musical heritage.
