Tartini’s Birth House
Museum
The Tartini House is the birthplace of composer Giuseppe Tartini and today hosts a museum collection managed by the Maritime Museum of Piran. It is located in the historic center, just off Tartini Square.
The house dates back to the 14th century, built on the site of the former Gothic Casa Pizagrua. Its current neoclassical appearance comes from the 19th century. Inside, visitors can admire painted walls with landscapes and still-life scenes commissioned by Tartini’s relatives.
The central exhibit is Tartini’s violin, made around 1720. Other items on display include portraits, a death mask, a marble bust, and personal memorabilia.
The house was renovated through the tARTini project, which brought modern museum facilities and digital access to content. Visitors can listen to Tartini’s music and explore his cultural legacy.
