The Lakes of Fiesa
Natural attraction
The Fiesa Lakes are located right by the sea between Piran and Strunjan, in the Fiesa bay. These two lakes of exceptional ecological value were formed due to clay excavation in a former brick factory. Today, they are recognized as a natural monument and a natural value of national importance.
The larger lake, up to 9 meters deep, lies just a few meters from the sea and is invisibly connected to it. The smaller freshwater lake is hidden among shrubs. Both lakes provide an important habitat for various plants and animals. Visitors can enjoy a seaside walking path leading from Fiesa to Piran.
The area is easily accessible by car, with parking available. Visitors are kindly requested to respect nature conservation rules, stay on designated paths, and keep the area clean.
