Villa Maria
Villa, Portorož
Villa Maria, also known as Villa Reinlaender, is located at Obala 29, along the main Piran–Portorož road. It was built in the late 19th century as the summer residence of Austro-Hungarian general Wilhelm von Reinländer.
This two-storey neoclassical villa is a typical example of aristocratic seaside architecture from the period. It features a symmetrical façade, a columned veranda, balconies with balustrades, and a raised garden terrace.
Surrounded by a stone wall and preserved garden layout, the villa maintains its historical charm. From 1947 to 1953, it served as the Slovenian teacher training college, and today it remains in private ownership.
Its prominent position and architectural integrity make it a notable cultural landmark of Portorož’s historical development as a seaside resort.
