Padna
is one of the most beautiful villages in Slovenian Istria and has always been
known for the production of olive oil. It is surrounded by olive groves, with
some trees that are more than 300 years old. The people of this village have
always supplied Piran and Portorož with fruit and vegetables and they are
especially known for chard.
We are very honoured to present again on 4 and 5 June at the Festival of olive oil and chard the
best olive oils from Slovenian Istria, which can compare in terms of quality
with the best oils in the world. The locals will prepare a rich selection of
healthy farm produce, grown on the hills of Šavrinsko gričevje, and traditional
Istrian dishes. The festival offers many activities and you can take part in
Boškarin trekking or in a cycling tour and have fun at the authentic Istrian
party in the late evening. We are certain that the ethno music concert in these intimate Istrian surroundings will be
a real delight at the end of the first day of the festival.
