A simple seasonal dish with breadcrumbs and herbs
Artichokes are a popular Istrian spring dish, prepared with olive oil, garlic, and herbs, celebrated for their simple preparation and rich flavor.
Ingridients:
- homegrown artichokes
- olive oil
- chopped garlic and parsley
- breadcrumbs
- salt, pepper
Preparation
Cleaned, slightly trimmed at the top, and washed artichokes are gently opened and filled with a mixture of breadcrumbs, chopped garlic and parsley, salt, and pepper. Then they are placed in a pot with olive oil, water is added to about three-quarters the height of the artichokes, and they are cooked in a covered pot over medium heat until the artichokes are tender.
Serve with polenta.
