One-Hour Tour of the Salt Pans
Your tour begins at the Visitor Center, where you’ll learn about traditional salt production and the unique fauna and flora adapted to life in this saline environment. You’ll also visit the Stjuža marine lagoon before returning to the Visitor Center to watch a short film about Strunjan Landscape Park.
One-Hour Cliff Tour
For this tour, your guide will meet you at the large parking area below Hotel Svoboda (Krka d.d.). You’ll walk through Mediterranean maquis up to the cliff-top, learning along the way about the cliff’s distinctive features, plant life, and the natural coastline below.
Two-Hour Cliff Tour
Perfect for all curious explorers! Your guide will lead you from the salt pans along the trail at the edge of Strunjan cliff, where you’ll learn about the characteristics of the flysch cliffs, the natural shoreline below, and the diverse types of seabed teeming with rich marine flora and fauna. As a reward for your hike, you’ll be greeted at the cliff-top with stunning views over the Gulf of Trieste and, on clear days, even Mount Triglav in the distance.
