The festive lights will illuminate Piran beginning Saturday,
5th of December. The lights switch on
ceremony will be broadcasted online including a video showcasing the best
spots in our region, from Nova Vas to Piran. The video will be accompanied by
music from four of Piran’s best musicians.
On Saturday, 5th
of December, the municipality of Piran will don its festive attire and shine
brightly for the lights switch on ceremony. The ceremony will be broadcasted from 5pm on Portoroz &
Piran‘s Youtube
channel. See the premiere of our promotional video showcasing our Destinations
from Nova Vas to Piran, accompanied by music from some of Piran’s best musicians: Jure Lesar, Slavko Ivančič, Anika Horvat and Teo Collori. The mayor of Municipality of Piran Đenio Zadković and the
director of Portorož Tourist Board mag. Igor Novel will greet the
viewers. Lara Pirc will host the countdown
ceremony, at the end of which she will press the button to switch on the lights.
It is bound to be a magical spectacle.
Beginning Saturday, visitors to
Portorož’s promenade will be able to enjoy festive music emanating from various
loudspeakers throughout the month. Should the current restrictions ease up, there will be a Christmas
& New Year’s Fair organised in the second half of December. Stands will
be set up on the promenade offering everything from artisan products to
culinary delights.
The traditional Sparkling Wine
Festival will go ahead regardless of the conditions, for what will be its
9th run in a row. Saturday, 26th of December, don’t miss the award ceremony for
the best sparkling wines of 2020. The ceremony, held at the Kempinski Palace’s Crystal
hall, will be broadcasted live from 5pm on Portoroz & Piran’s Youtube
channel. From 26th of December to 2nd of January, enjoy the sparkling wine week
at the local restaurants. Good food and selected sparkling wines always go hand
in hand. This year’s special novelty is the Sparkling Wine Festival Experience
which you can order to be delivered at your doorstep. It includes a selection
